About Us

The Government of Andhra Pradesh have accorded permission to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University for establishment of Animal Husbandry Polytechnic(AHP) at Banavasi, Kurnool district vide G.O.MS.No.6, dt.9.2.2016 of the Animal Husbandry, Dairy development and Fisheries (AH-II) department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Later on the government of Andhra Pradesh have transferred 276.45 acres(200.00+76.45 acres) of land from Animal Husbandry Department, A.P. Hyderabad to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati for establishment of 1)Sheep & Goat Research Station and 2) Animal Husbandry Polytechnic at Banavasi, Kurnool district vide G.O.M.S.No.24, dt.18.06.2016 of the AHDD(AH-II) department to take further necessary action.

Accordingly, the University has posted Dr.P.Guruvishnu, Assistant Professor(VBT) as Assistant Professor and instructed to act as i/c Principal at Animal Husbandry Polytechnic, Banavasi until further orders vide Memo.No.3181/Services.I/2016(1) dt.27.05.2016 of the Registrar, SVVU, Tirupati. Afterwards, the initiatives were taken to establish new Animal Husbandry Polytechnic temporarily in the premises of Jersey Cattle Farm(JCF) buildings, Banavasi, Kurnool district for the academic year 2016-17. Recently Dr.K.Satheesh, Professor was posted here and was assumed the charge of Principal from 08.09.2017 onwards to till date.

Work in progress

1. The construction of Administrative block, Boys and Girls Hostel, Cattle Farm and Poultry Farm is initiated.
2. The survey of the allotted land by the Mandal Surveyor was also initiated and it is also almost completed except for 25% of land.
