Animal Husbandry Polytechnic, Banavasi

The Government of Andhra Pradesh have accorded permission to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University for establishment of Animal Husbandry Polytechnic(AHP) at Banavasi, Kurnool district vide G.O.MS.No.6, dt.9.2.2016 of the Animal Husbandry, Dairy development and Fisheries (AH-II) department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Later on the government of Andhra Pradesh have transferred 276.45 acres(200.00+76.45 acres) of land from Animal Husbandry Department, A.P. Hyderabad to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati for establishment of 1)Sheep & Goat Research Station and 2) Animal Husbandry Polytechnic at Banavasi, Kurnool district vide G.O.M.S.No.24, dt.18.06.2016 of the AHDD(AH-II) department to take further necessary action.

Accordingly, the University has posted Dr.P.Guruvishnu, Assistant Professor(VBT) as Assistant Professor and instructed to act as i/c Principal at Animal Husbandry Polytechnic, Banavasi until further orders vide Memo.No.3181/Services.I/2016(1) dt.27.05.2016 of the Registrar, SVVU, Tirupati. Afterwards, the initiatives were taken to establish new Animal Husbandry Polytechnic temporarily in the premises of Jersey Cattle Farm(JCF) buildings, Banavasi, Kurnool district for the academic year 2016-17. Recently Dr.K.Satheesh, Professor was posted here and was assumed the charge of Principal from 08.09.2017 onwards to till date.

Dr Kokila Satheesh

Dr. K. Satheesh joined as Principal, AHP, Banavasi on 8^th September, 2017. He completed his BVSc & AH from College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati (ANGRAU) in 1998 and completed MVSc in 2001 in the Dept of Veterinary Pathology from the same campus. He started his career as Asst. Prof during May 2002 at NTR CVSc, Gannavaram in the Dept of Veterinary Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine and has contributed significantly in establishing the department. He obtained NET qualification from ICAR-ASRB in Veterinary Pathology in 2008. He completed his PhD in the year 2011 in Vety. Pathology, College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati, SVVU. Due to amalgamation of Department of Veterinary Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine, he was repatriated to Department of Veterinary Pathology during December 2012 as Assistant Professor and later on elevated as Associate Professor in the Dept of Vety. Pathology at NTR CVSc, Gannavaram in 2013 and continued till 31^st Aug, 2017. Recently, he was promoted as Professor and posted as Principal and he assumed charge on 8^th Sep, 2017 at AHP, Banavasi. He has 20 publications in reputed journals. He is peer reviewer in National and International journals. He is a life member in professional associations like IAVP, ISVEPM, and APVCI.
