The Department has been in existence since the inception of the college. The department had one Lecturer and two Assistant Lecturers when the college was started. The department was upgraded on 14-6- 2001 by creation of Professor post. The department is having sanctioned posts of one Professor, one Associate Professor and four Assistant Professors.PG program was started in the department in the year 1986-87 and so far 11 candidates obtained their 23 M.V.Sc and 3 Ph.D. from this department.
