Dr.Ganti.R.K.SHARMA, is presently working as Professor and University Head in the discipline of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education with 28 years of vast experience. Prof. Sharma completed B.V.Sc & A.H. from College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad during 1993 and M.V.Sc., from Extension Education Institute, Hyderabad during 1997 and Ph.D. from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar during 2004 and presently acting as Associate Dean, College of Veterinary science, Proddatur from 06.03.2026.

He is conferred with Adarsha Vidya Saraswathi Rashtriya Puraskar Award for the 2023 and Rythunestham Award for the year 2019 and State Best Teacher Award for the year 2017 and Distinguished faculty award for the year 2016 as well as University Meritorious Teacher Award for the year 2012.

Besides teaching and guiding the under-graduate, post-graduate and doctoral students towards attaining their goals, Prof. Sharma has significantly contributed to the fraternity of Veterinary Extension Education. He has been a long-standing and diligently active member in teaching and has shown absolute commitment and tireless efforts in promotion of extension education. In the process he has contributed many text books like “Veterinary Extension Education” and ‘Cyber Livestock Extension” and acting as ‘Editor-in-Chief’ for a peer-reviewed journal ‘African Journal of Livestock Extension’, Nigeria as well as reviewer for many reputed scientific journals.

His close alignment with developing trends and innovative technologies in extension research has led to more than 100 research articles in reputed National and International journals and has handled few research projects funded by Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, Ministry of Agriculture and Indian Council for Agricultural Research.

Prof. Sharma acting as Academic Council Member (External Expert) for Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Karnataka and acted as Member of Selection Committee (External Expert) for universities like TANUVAS, KVAFSU, PVNRTSVU, KVASU, MAFSU, OUAT etc.

Prof. Sharma has established the lucrative role of ICT tools like cyber livestock communication, multimedia modules on various livestock farming, touch screen information kiosk and mobile-app for digital awareness and dissemination and easy accessibility of latest information by the livestock farmers.

In reorganization to his contributions to the extension fraternity, Prof. Sharma conferred with Fellow of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension-2025 awarded by Society of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension, Ludhiana and Fellow of Veterinary and Animal Sciences-2022 awarded by Veterinary and Animal Sciences Research Foundation, Bhubaneswar and Fellow of National Environmental Science Academy-2020 awarded by National Environmental Science Academy, New Delhi.
