Dr Yerradoddi Ramana Reddy assumed charge as Associate Dean, NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram on 26.2.2026. Dr Reddy graduated from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Hyderabad in the field of Veterinary Science during the year 1992. He obtained his Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Hyderabad in 1995 and Doctorate (Animal Nutrition) from Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad during the year 2000. During 31 years of professional career besides working as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon in A. P. State Animal Husbandry Department, Assistant, Associate and Professor in S. V. Veterinary University, Tirupati he also worked as Head, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Hyderabad, Director, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), NIRDPR, Hyderabad and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Andhra Pradesh Center for Advanced Research on Livestock (APCARL), Pulivendula. He taught animal nutrition courses to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students and handled 24 research projects funded by state, national and international organizaations as Principal and Co-Principal Investigator. Guided 19 post graduate students and 10 doctoral students as major and minor advisor. Published 119 research articles in National (70) and International (49) scientific journals, 28 lead papers (10 in international conferences/ workshops), 8 contributory papers, 17 chapters in book, and twenty-seven technical articles (6 English, 21 Telugu), besides editing three compendiums/books one proceeding, seven booklets, 16 research reports 10 flyers and 2 posters. Presented 64 full papers (30 International), 87 research abstracts (21 International) in national and international seminars/conferences. Dr Reddy attended 3 international training programs. Delivered 108 guest lecturers (16 International), developed 4 training modules and organized 20 capacity building programs to national and international participants. Also drafted a background paper for fodder policy of Andhra Pradesh State. Dr Reddy acted as external examiner and selection committee member for ICAR and State Veterinary Universities. Served as an expert member of the SYST and TIASN program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. He also served as academic council and general council member of NIRDPR, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh besides serving as academic council member, S.V. Veterinary University, Tirupati. Dr Reddy is a member of many professional bodies and fellow of four national professional bodies and member convenor, Board of Management, APCARL. Dr Reddy is a reviewer for many national and international journals and received 15 awards. Dr Reddy is recipient of INSA-DFG Fellow and International Alumni of University of Bonn, Germany. Dr Reddy visited South Korea, USA, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Kenya, Ethiopia and Vietnam on professional assignments. Facilitated the establishment of Indo-German Global Academy on Agro-Ecological Research and Learning (IGGAARL), Dairy Research Lab, Agriculture College, Horticulture College at APCARL. Attracted US $ 3.6 million as an investment and established a feed and feed supplement manufacturing unit by a multinational company at APCARL.
