Animal Husbandry Polytechnic, Vennelavalasa was established during September, 2021 under the
esteemed Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University at Vennelavalasa, Sarbujjili Mandal,
Srikakulam district.
The A.H. Polytechnic, Vennelavalasa was established in the year 2021 vide G.O. Ms. No. 21
Dated: 13.05.2021 Agri & Co-op (Agri.III) Department, at Vennelavalasa Village,
Sarbujjili Mandal, Srikakulam District, was inaugurated on 8-12-2021 by sri Hon’ble
Speaker Sri T. Sitaram garu. This institute is under administrative control of
Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati. The permanent buildings and farms
are not completed, hence it presently running at Government Polytechnic Campus.
The present location is at C- Block of Government Polytechnic Dhannanapeta Junction,
Amadalavalasa, Srikakulam District. The college started functioning from 1-12-2021 offering
two year Animal Husbandry Diploma program for SSC freshly pass out students. The college
includes facilities and faculty strength as per the standards decided by the SVVU Board
members from time to time. This college adopts Jonnavalasa and Rottavalasa near by villages
for student practical purposes and other relevant NSS programs.
The main objective of this Diploma course is to impart clinical and laboratory training
pertaining to Veterinary science. Students undergo through theoretical and practical
training of 20 courses during a period of three semesters. Internship programme for diploma
Students will be conducted during the last semester of the academic year in collaboration
with A.P. Animal Husbandry Dept. for strengthening clinical experience of final year students.
This course provides employment opportunities for rural youth as para veterinary staff or
Veterinary assistants or Animal Husbandry Assustants. The Veterinary Assistants strengthen
the Animal Husbandry department as an important work force component apart from the Veterinarians
and help to get the veterinary aid more accessible to the public.
